When I come to a stop (faster than usual) and want to move back quickly, the engine sometimes stalls (ON DCT) on the 1st gear at a very low speed, and I have to hit start again.. :/ So annoying…. This continual draining prematurely aged the battery. Replaced battery 1 with another Yuasa AGM at 18,820 miles on 3/16/22, $75. USB port had been removed which kept the battery from slowly draining. When replaced, the battery would no longer hold a charge. 2 years, 5 months & 16,365 miles worth of life. 5w40 will run better than 10w40 in the cold and is has equal performance there after. I've been using it in my goldwings for years and is going in my AT DCT next (2nd) oil change. I hear ya. Been using the 5W40 T6 for a few years now and have been very happy with its behaviour in standard Honda engines. Hi, I picked up a new crf1100 dct today and had major problems within 2 miles, brake's failing, abs light on, traction control light on, engine management light on and then the dct not changing gears correctly and then becoming stuck in 2nd and me having to take it back to the dealers tonight in a van. The Africa Twin DCT, Goldwing DCT, and Rebel 1100 DCT are outselling their manual counterparts. Won’t be surprised if Honda’s next model is rebel 300/500 DCT. I tried the 1100 and had a few complaints as far as it being in a stupid high gear going 20-30mph and the shifting mid turn from a stop, but that’s the beauty of the paddle shifters Hi All, I'm new to the forum. I joined because I'm about to purchase an Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES. 2022 model. I'm leaning towards the manual clutch model rather than the DCT. I can see where the DCT is a bit safer, easier, and more convenient. Especially in rush hour traffic. But I'm not convinced it's the right choice off-road. Else I can go to cycle gear or honda dealer. The owner's manual lists 10W30 Jaso, API SG or better. But Honda seems to list that for a lot of bikes, including ones with regular gear boxes. And some apparently have more choices (e.g. 10W40) listed in the owners manual. 10W40 should give more choices in a Jaso MA oil. Honda has had tremendous success with DCT with some models selling 70% DCT to 30% manual when offered on the same bike. It's not really new tech anymore - it was released in the 2010 VFR both F version and later in the Crosstour X version; 2012 models of Integra, CTX700, NC700X; 2015 model of Africa Twin.
